The new smart meter generation from Kamstrup utilizes power saving technology. Drawing on a long experience with battery driven products has made it possible to create a residential electricity meter with a power consumption of only 0.6W.

It’s simple mathematics: The Kamstrup meter’s 0.6W consumption equals 0.0006kW that over a year amounts to (rounded down) 5kWh. 5kWh multiplied by an estimated price of energy loss of € 0.04 gives you the cost of one meter’s energy loss pr. year: € 0.2. Now multiply by number of meters and number of lifetime years.
